Over the past decade, Sam has practiced and taught yoga all over the world, currently teaching hot yoga and pilates at Sterling Hot Yoga Works in Lexington, Ky. She’s been leading yoga at Moonshiner’s Ball since year one, and considers it “hands down the best gig.”

Troy Clark’s love of drumming started in the early ’90’s, when drum circles were the thing to do after leaving Grateful Dead Shows. He runs a regular drum circle at Terrapin Hill Farm in Harrodsburg. Troy will be hosting two drum workshops at the Moonshiner’s Ball to demonstrate basic rhythms and discuss the healing and meditational properties of group drumming. They are open to folks of all drumming levels and abilities.

Herbal bitters are an extraction of herbal medicine into alcohol that can be taken daily to improve digestion, nutrient assimilation, skin health and more! Herbal bitters can add a delightful flavor to cocktails or be taken as a supplement. In this workshop, participants will sample a few flavors, discuss the health benefits and learn how to make your own bitters at home. The class will be taught by Charley Caudill, the owner of White Willow Emporium, and a clinical herbalist, trained in Southern Folk Medicine and Western Herbalism.

Sonya Blaydes has been hooping for 15-20 years and can’t recall exactly when the enchantment began. She will teach basic, intermediate and advanced tricks for whomever arrives for the workshop. If there is a trick you’ve been working on but are having trouble with, she might be able to help break it down to baby steps. Hooping will help you feel like a kid again. Come on out for some fun!

Led by Jaime Brown, a certified Laughter Yoga leader who believes laughter is the best medicine.

What makes you special is what makes you different. During this workshop, participants will be led through a short mediation to design their very own freak flags. Materials are provided, but you have an option to bring a favorite stick to hang your flag on. Workshop leader Amethyst Forest is a working artist, designer and mom of 2 girls. She loves to help people create and heal parts of themselves through the creative process.
