Poet Eric Scott Sutherland is the author of tall tales (1999), The Psychonaut Sails (2000), Incommunicado (2007) and The Forthcoming Pendulum (2014). He created Holler Poets Series, a monthly celebration of literature and music in may 2008. The literary event in Kentucky, Holler has featured over 80 writers and nearly 40 musicians/bands. Eric was named a finalist in the Carnegie Center’s 2009 Next Great Writer’s Competition. In 2011, he was officially proclaimed poet laureate of Al’s Bar. That same year he was chosen as the Single Hound Literary Journal’s poet of the month for July. Known as a passionate reader, Eric has featured alongside six Kentucky poet laureates, Pulitzer finalist Maurice Manning, national book award winner Nicky Finney and many other great Kentucky writers, both locally and nationally. He has been invited to open events for national best-selling authors David Korten, Julia butterfly hill, and Michael Shuman.
